For week 6 of the blogging challenge, we were asked to make a poll about work. So below is my survey about work.

For week 5 of the blogging challenge we were asked to write about spring break and include a image and credit it. So that’s what I’m doing now. Spring break is the time most kids look forward to when spring comes around. I know that I do. But that aside, I had a TON of fun! First thing I did was play a whole day of just ball hockey with friends. It was so fun, but my legs didn’t agree. After that, I hung out with friends and played some Xbox. After a couple days of rest, I headed down to my local golf course to play. I didn’t play very good, but it was fun. The next thing I did was I got Skyrim. Its a really fun game based on medieval times but with some fantasy aspects. I played that for a long time. But then I realized that that my spring break was already half done! So I started playing some more ball hockey. After a couple days of that, it was clear that school was near. So I got out to the golf course and practiced because one of my golf tourneys were coming up. So after all that practice, it payed off. I shot 88 and almost got a hole-in-one! But the next day we had to go back to school. And that’s what I did for spring break.

For week 3 of the blogging challenge, we were asked to write about what makes a quality comment. A good comment is one that is thoughtful, interesting and creative. When making a comment, it is a good idea to leave a question at the end so that it keeps the conversion going. A comment should also be on topic. If someone comments on a post about healthy foods and says “Where do you live?” This is an example of a weak comment because it is off-topic. An example of a good comment for a post about healthy foods is “I think a really good food is ____ because…etc”. I encourage you to comment thoughtfully from now on because it makes for good conversations.

On week 2 of the blogging challenge, we were asked to write about the tourist attractions in our state or province. That is exactly what I will be writing about today.

I live in BC, Canada, where we have some of the nicest mountains around. These mountains provide some of the best snow for snowboarding, snowshoeing, downhill skiing and cross-country skiing. Not only are these great places for the winter, but in the summer they are great for mountain biking and hiking.

Another tourist attraction is the world’s biggest hockey stick, in Duncan on Vancouver Island. It is made out of Douglas Fir wood planks and weighs in at a staggering 61,000 pounds.

Surfers commonly visit the west coast of BC because of some of the best beaches for surfing in North America. One near me is Long Beach, in Tofino. I’ve been there a lot and the water is freezing!

We are also home to Whistler ski & snowboard resort, which is one of  the best in the world. Did you know that over 2 million people visit this resort every year

Last, but not least is Okanagan Lake, which is home to the famed Ogopogo lake monster. This started when people claimed of seeing a weird creature in the lake. After many claims this developed into the legend we know today.

I think BC is one of the best tourist attractions in Canada because no matter where you go, there is always something to do.

I am only on week 1 of the blogging challenge because I was late registering for it, but I am confident that I can catch up to date. For the challenge we were assigned mentors. These mentors review our progress on the blogging challenge, so I’d like ask them a few questions. All I know about my mentor is that they’re from a university class called “EDM310″ and that they have quite a few students. By asking a couple questions I hope to learn more about them.

1. Where are you from?

2. How did you get involved in the blogging challenge?

3. Why did you get involved in the blogging challenge?

4. Do you enjoy blogging?

And finally…

5. Are you excited to be involved in the challenge?

If you have some answers to these questions, please comment. Thanks!

On March 31st, 2012, at 8:30Pm, We turn off the lights for Earth Hour. Earth Hour started in 2007 when in Sidney, Australia, over 2 million residents of the city turned off all of their non-essential electronics for the environment. Even by writing this post I’m actually harming the environment. The reason electricity is harmful is because power plants burn fossil fuels to make electricity. That fossil fuel contains carbon dioxide, which will slowly blanket the earth in a cloud of poisonous gas. These gases allow sunlight to pass through, but block it from escaping. Our planet will slowly heat up, melting the polar ice caps. If these ice caps melt, our sea levels could rise by up to 250 feet, drowning low lying cities. Hundreds of millions of people will be without homes and and millions could possibly die. This is the reason why Earth Hour was created. We need to realize that if we continue to burn fossil fuels at an alarming rate, our lifestyle we live now could be non-existent in the future.

This survey for my product for my school’s Young Entrepreneur Fair, which is an event where students make handmade products to sell and experience going through the steps of developing and marketing a product . The purpose is to give kids a chance to make something, sell it and try to make a profit. At the end of it you donate 10% or more of your profit to a local charity. I agreed that if I make less than $20 of profit, I will donate all of my profit to charity. If you could take a minute of your time and do my survey, I would be very happy. Thanks!
